Hakim: U.S. has double standards for Palestine issue
TEHRAN- Seyyed Ammar Hakim, the leader of Iraq's national wisdom, described the White House's policies regarding West Asian issues, especially issues related to Palestine, as displaying "double standard."
Speaking at the annual meeting of Iraq's disabled population, Seyyed Ammar Hakim said, "We are experiencing a quick and safe transition in Iraq towards greater stability and development due to the proportional increase in income and important investment opportunities, and this doubles our responsibility."
Emphasizing responsibility towards regional developments, Hakim added that the Zionist regime continues to deliberately target children, women, the elderly, patients, journalists, hospitals, mosques, churches, infrastructure, and sources of income of the Palestinian People.
According to Hakim, the Zionists' acts must be condemned to put an end to the ongoing bloodbath in the Gaza Strip.
Referring to the demonstrations held worldwide in support of the Palestinian nation, he stated, "Although millions of people around the world have held demonstrations in support of children, women, and the people of Gaza, we have witnessed double standards at the international level.
He referred to the Emirati initiative about an immediate ceasefire in the besieged enclave, which was vetoed by the U.S., calling the act the latest example of displaying double standards at an international level.
Expressing gratitude for the widespread support for Palestine in Iraq, he denounced the U.S. veto of a UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. He stated that the act of the U.S. manifests a dangerous gap between rulers and their people.
In the end, Hakim touched on the widespread support for Palestine that has taken place in Iraq, saying that the authority, nation, government, political-social and media outlets and institutions, and elites in Iraq all unanimously support Palestine and the rights of the oppressed nation
