TEHRAN – Signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (TCCIMA) has opened a new chapter in cooperation between the government and the private sector.

TCCIMA and IRICA signed MOU earlier this month to cooperate in facilitating foreign trade, the TCCIMA portal reported.

The MOU was signed by TCCIMA Head Mohammad Najafi-Arab and IRICA Head Mohammad Rezvani-Far at the place of the TCCIMA.

Facilitating the implementation of laws, benefiting from the scientific, technical and research capacities of each other and also establishing a service desk to resolve the customs-related issues of the members of the TCCIMA were also among the subjects covered in the MOU.

The two sides also agreed on bilateral cooperation and interaction to facilitate the processes related to export and import.

With the signing of this memorandum, in addition to creating a platform for exchanging views between the two sides in facilitating the commercial operations of the private sector, it has become possible for the TCCIMA to undertake the role of an adviser to IRICA for reviewing the current guidelines governing the customs executive operations.

From now on, TCCIMA representatives will have an effective presence as customs consultants and the voice of the private sector in committees and meetings related to private sector activities such as value determination.
