Basij volunteer forces stage nationwide rallies in support of Gaza
TEHRAN- The Basij volunteer forces in Iran have organized nationwide demonstrations across the nation in solidarity with the Palestinian people amid Israel's continued oppression against the West Bank and Gaza.
The popular force brought about 50,000 of its members to the streets of Tehran on Friday to express their support for the Palestinian people against the brutal Israeli regime’s assault on the besieged Gaza Strip.
The demonstrations, labeled “March towards al-Quds,” took place as part of Iran’s National Basij Week, which coincided with the first day of a provisional truce that ended Israel’s almost 50-day assault on Gaza.
The Basij forces in Tehran advanced toward the University of Tehran, the site of Friday prayers, by marching along the famous Enghelab (Revolution) Street.
The participants, who were holding Palestinian flags and resistance movements, denounced the Israeli regime’s genocide in the besieged region and declared their undying solidarity for the Palestinian people in Gaza.
