Heads of Iran’s chambers call for establishing budget monitoring system

TEHRAN - Heads of Iran’s chambers of commerce have called for establishing a system for monitoring the budget allocated to chambers of commerce, the portal of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) reported.

In a meeting with the board of directors of the ICCIMA, the heads of the country’s chambers stressed the need for a precise definition of the ICCIMA’s new budgeting system, and emphasized the necessity of a monitoring mechanism during the implementation of the mentioned system.

Speaking in this meeting, ICCIMA Secretary General Sasan Shahveisi briefed the attendees about the details of the chamber’s budgeting process for the next Iranian calendar year 1403 (begins in late March 2024), saying that the chamber’s budgeting will be based on a performance-payment system.

According to Shahveisi, this type of budgeting emphasizes programmatic, developmental, accounting, and behavioral economics to increase the productivity of services and production.
