Loose adaptation of Neil Simon’s “Fools” at Tehran’s Ahura Theater

TEHRAN-The fantasy musical play “Fools” directed by Abdolreza Akbari and produced by Barana Lotfi is currently on stage at Ahura Theater in Tehran. 

It is a loose adaptation of the namesake comic fable written by the renowned American playwright Neil Simon, Honaronline reported on Tuesday.

The play depicts the people of a remote village, who are waiting for a teacher for their children. After the teacher arrives, one of the villagers does not let him work properly because he is against education and progress. All the teacher's effort is to remove this great obstacle. The play shows the conflict between these two and other villagers.

A number of children from Barana Acting School act in the play including Shayan Pirouz, Adrina Omidi, Andia Jafari, Arshida Dorostkar, Ali Dalir, Sonia Azizi, Sarina Azizi and Ghazal Sharifi among others.

The play is performed every night until November 17 at Ahura Theater located at Erfan Art Complex, South Mofatteh Ave., Haft-e-Tir Square.
