TEHRAN - Iran’s deputy foreign minister for political affairs has emphasized the importance of promoting sanctions on Israeli goods, calling on Islamic countries to showcase their commitment towards the Palestinian cause.

Ali Bagheri-Kani made the remarks in a meeting with students from the School of International Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, sharing insights into the tragic events unfolding in the Gaza Strip.

Bagheri-Kani asserted that Palestine has become a global human rights focal point, with no international rule safeguarding Zionist invaders from their aggression. He stressed the conflict's asymmetric nature, portraying one side as an aggressor and criminal, while the other is the oppressed Palestinian nation fighting against all odds to preserve its rights.

Tehran's four-decade-long approach toward the Palestinian conflict is aligned with Iran’s strategic and national interests, he pointed out.

He also said Iran's farsighted support for the people of Palestine in their struggle against Israeli occupiers has won global recognition.

Bagheri-Kani positioned Iran as a regional powerhouse against terrorism and power domination, showcasing its active and innovative global role.

He added, “Iran leverages all political and international capacities to defend the ideals of resistance and achieve its objectives.”

The senior diplomat emphasized that all outcomes of the conflict's asymmetric nature will signify a clear defeat for the United States.

He added that Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel has confused Tel Aviv and Washington to the extent that despite the passage of more than a month since the war started they have not yet been able to come to their senses and therefore they have resorted to massacring women and children and destroying the besieged enclave’s infrastructure to compensate for their “historic defeat in their own imaginations.”

Underlining the significance of imposing sanctions on Zionist criminals, Bagheri-Kani portrayed it as a supportive move from the Muslim countries and other nations in defending the oppressed people of Gaza. He conveyed Gaza's people's plea: “Stop aiding the murderers of our children!”

The deputy foreign minister reiterated that a proper solution to the Palestinian conflict aligns with international rules and regulations. He stressed returning to the opinions and votes of the true owners of the land, both inside and outside the occupied territories as the solution to the decades-long conflict. Bagheri-Kani emphasized that anyone not endorsing this solution cannot claim to champion human rights, peace, and security.
