No military advantage to Israel heinous war on Gaza: Iran army chief
TEHRAN- The Israeli military’s continued assault on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip has drawn severe criticism from the Iranian Army’s top commander, who stressed that the horrific campaign in the beleaguered region has no military significance.
Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi maintained that Operation al-Aqsa Storm on October 7 marked a “turning point” in the struggles to liberate Palestinian territories and that it expedited the demise of the Israeli regime.
He made the remarks at a ceremony on Thursday in the western Iranian city of Saqqez, Kordestan Province.
Additionally, he repeated prior statements made by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, that crimes and harsh attacks will not be able to undo the irreversible defeat suffered by the Tel Aviv regime during the large-scale operation.
“The barbaric actions being committed nowadays in the Gaza Strip are devoid of any military value. Aerial bombardments of defenseless, vulnerable and unarmed people taking refuge in houses, schools, public facilities and hospitals are not worth even a single second in comparison with the infiltration into the intelligence and operational barriers of the ominous Israeli regime. Israel cannot reverse the defeat,” Mousavi pointed out.
The senior Iranian military official continued by stating that Israeli war crimes once again revealed the real face of the U.S. and its false claims to be an advocate of human rights, and that Palestine has remained once again the main concern of the Muslim world and the global community.
Mousavi highlighted that Operation al-Aqsa Storm, together with the international support for freedom and the heroic tenacity of Gazans, shown once again that the Israeli regime is weaker than a “cobweb,” and will “collapse sooner than expected.”
After Hamas launched Operation al-Aqsa Storm, the largest offensive against the occupying entity in years, the Israeli regime has gone to war with the Gaza Strip. Since the onset of the conflict, the U.S. has backed Israel’s brutal strikes on the Palestinian enclave as an alleged measure of “self-defense.”
Late last month, the United States vetoed a United Nations Security Council resolution calling on the regime to end the incursion into the Gaza Strip.
