TEHRAN- Iran has issued a warning over the consequences of the Zionist regime’s increasing bombardment of the beleaguered Gaza Strip, where Palestinians are being killed since October 7.

In a telephone conversation with Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that “due to the expansion of the intensity of the war against Gaza’s civilian residents, expansion of the scope of the war has become inevitable.”

The officials from Qatar and Iran expressed their profound worry about the humanitarian situation in the coastal sliver and vehemently denounced the Israeli regime’s onslaught on Gaza’s civilian population.

The top diplomats discussed how to stop the Israeli regime’s brutal assault, put an immediate ceasefire in place, and keep delivering humanitarian supplies to the population in Gaza who are under blockade and in conflict.

They also discussed a few of the proposals that have been put up thus far regarding how such a ceasefire could be put into effect.

The war began when Palestinian resistance groups launched a surprise offensive against the occupying regime, called Operation al-Aqsa Storm, in reaction to the occupying regime’s decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.

The Palestinian death toll from Israeli attacks has just risen to 10,812 according to Gaza’s health ministry. At a news conference in Gaza City, ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qudra said that 4,412 children, 2,918 women, and 676 elders were killed, while more than 26,000 people were injured.

Since the start of the war, Israel has launched periodic assaults on southern Lebanon, sparking a gunfight between the regime and Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance fighters.

In reaction to the Israeli regime’s unrestrained assault against Gaza, Yemen’s Armed Forces have launched multiple rounds of drone and ballistic missile attacks against targets located inside the occupied territories.

'Future belongs to Palestine'

In a post on his X account on Thursday, Amir Abdollahian said that time is running out for Israel to continue its ruthless onslaught against the Gaza Strip as the regime is on the verge of collapse.

He also noted that the only good Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu did was further destabilize the foundations of the “fake Israeli regime.”

Netanyahu unmasked the “criminal, violent and aggressive face of the Zionist regime” in the massacre of the women and children of Gaza, he wrote.

“Undoubtedly, the future belongs to Palestine,” the chief Iranian diplomat added.

Amir Abdollahian’s remarks coincide with mounting calls to put an end to the regime’s abuses as well as broad worldwide criticism of Israel’s lethal bombing assault in Gaza.
