TEHRAN – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said on Wednesday that Iran has been warning the world about the criminal and perilous nature of the Israeli regime for years, adding that recent events serve as evidence that Iran’s stance on the regime has been accurate all along. 

“Today, the legitimacy of Iran's position in considering the existence of this terrorist regime as dangerous for the human society and the necessity of confronting it and defending the rights of the oppressed people of Palestine has been proven to everyone,” the Iranian official said while pointing out Israel’s recent nuclear threat against the people of Gaza. 

Raisi added that the silence and inaction of international organizations in the face of the harrowing crimes of the Israeli regime against the impoverished people of Gaza causes people around the world to lose trust in these organizations as each day goes by. 

“In addition to causing great sorrow and regret, this issue goes to show that people in different parts of the world are now seeking to replace the current oppressive structure [of international bodies] with a more just system,” the president stated. 

During his visit to Tajikistan, Raisi also pointed to the Gaza situation. Raisi emphasised the need to immediately stop the attacks on the dear people of Gaza and end the genocide and infanticide in this land, saying, "4 thousand children, and in general, over 10 thousand innocent and oppressed people of Palestine have been martyred by the Zionist Regime and the support of Americans and Westerners in this region."

A far-right Israeli minister named Amichai Eliyahu on Sunday said using a nuclear weapon against Gaza is “an option” for Tel Aviv in its latest bombing campaign against the Palestinian territory.

He made further incendiary remarks by suggesting that “there are no non-combatants in Gaza”.

Israel practically admitting to possessing nukes has failed to elicit any reactions from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) which currently holds nearly zero surveillance over Israeli nuclear sites. 

After the minister’s assertion, several Israeli media outlets criticized the regime’s official for suggesting something that “could hurt Israeli cities.”

Since October 7, Israel has killed over 10,000 Palestinian civilians in Gaza during its deliberate targeting of schools, hospitals, homes, mosques, churches and refugee camps. 

In the early days of November, Israel had already dropped 18,000 tons of bombs on the Gaza Strip, about 1.5 times the explosive force of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan in World War II.
