Resistance might opt for more surprise actions if Gaza war continues: Iran FM

TEHRAN – If Israel’s relentless attacks on Gaza continue, resistance forces in the region might alter the situation by making the decision to take more surprise actions, according to Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.

“If the Zionist regime’s war crimes and genocidal attacks against civilians in Gaza do not come to an end, the region will move towards making a big and decisive decision,” Amir Abdollahian said on Wednesday during a press conference with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan in Ankara.

The top Iranian diplomat warned that the situation might span out of control if Israel does not rein in its brutal bombardments of Gaza, adding that the responsibility of such a crisis lies entirely with the U.S. and other countries backing Israel.

“So far 50 Israelis who were being held captive by Hamas have died during the regime’s attack,” the foreign minister announced.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he called for boycotting the Israeli regime's products, adding, "We support any political initiative that prevents the spread of war and guarantees the real rights of the Palestinian people."

Amir Abdollahian said it is necessary that Islamic countries establish a court to hold Israel accountable for its “war crimes” against Palestinians.
The senior Iranian diplomat also thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his stance against the Israeli regime and declared that Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi will soon visit Turkey.

Turkey accuses the West of double-standards

Hakan Fidan, for his part, condemned Western countries for their “double standard” in addressing the Israeli aggression against Gaza.

“Refugee camps, hospitals, and even mosques are under bombardment. The Friday gathering was one of our biggest reactions. We do not accept double standards with Ukraine and Palestine. If we want a just world, we must behave principled and coherent,” the Turkish foreign minister stressed.

Fidan continued by warning Israel that its bloodshed of Palestinians “will not lead anywhere”. He said Ankara is engaging with different parties to put an end to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“We follow this action globally and especially with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. We pursue diplomacy with the Arab Union, the African Union, the United Nations, and all countries in the world. Unfortunately, the European Union does not want to hear about a ceasefire”.

After the press conference, Iran’s foreign minister held talks with Erdogan, where he reportedly discussed the latest developments in Gaza.
