Requirements for stability of inflation control discussed at TCCIMA meeting

TEHRAN – The members of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (TCCIMA)’s Money and Capital Market Committee held a meeting earlier this week in which the requirements for stability of the government’s inflation control measures were discussed.

As the TCCIMA portal reported, during this meeting which was also attended by the representatives of various private sector entities, the effects of the bank balance sheet control policy on the capital market environment and liquidity growth were explored.

In the meeting, the issues related to the government’s budget bill were also discussed and the officials and experts attending the gathering pointed to the budget deficit as one of the major problems of the country’s economy.

In this regard, Feryal Mostofi, the head of the TCCIMA Money and Capital Market Committee, said currently the country's income can only cover 70 percent of current expenses and the rest must be provided from other sources.
