Defense chief vows swift, forceful reaction to error by foes
TEHRAN- Iran’s defense minister issues a warning saying that any error or miscalculation on the part of the enemies will result in a swift and forceful reaction.
“The enemies know that should they make any mistake, they will be met with the Islamic Republic of Iran’s strong and decisive response,” said Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Ashtiyani on Tuesday.
Ashtiyani made the statements while touring the Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research, a defense ministry unit entrusted with creating new technologies for use by the country’s military forces.
During the visit, the minister said Iran’s military strategy must change to deal with the complex challenges.
“In today’s complicated world, it is necessary for the country to go beyond its current line of defense. Of course, it does not mean trespassing on or violating the borders of other countries,” he said.
According to the general, Iran will be able to increase its deterrence capacity by utilizing cutting-edge technology in the domain of cyber-warfare, space equipment, and cognitive warfare.
Ashtiyani’s cautionary statement coincides with worries in the West Asia region on the possible expansion of the current conflict in the occupied territories, where the Israeli regime is continuing its ruthless military offensive against the Gaza Strip’s populace.
Iran has vowed to back Palestinian resistance groups in their conflict with Israel, but it has also threatened to retaliate militarily against any attack on its interests or nationals.
During a phone call with Syrian Defense Minister Ali Mahmoud Abbas on Monday, Ashtiyani condemned Israel’s unrelenting bombardment on Gaza as a “violation of all rules of war and human rights.”
He asserted that Israel’s savage attacks on Palestinians amount to “political suicide.”
According to Ashtiyani, Israel’s actions of aggression against the Gazan people have no bounds and the Zionist regime enjoys the approval and backing of the U.S. and its other Western allies.
Additionally, he praised the tremendous accomplishments made by Palestinian warriors during Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, noting that it revealed to the world the weakness of the Zionist regime.
He added that the Israeli regime is attempting to kill innocent Palestinian children and adults to exact revenge for its historic operational and intelligence failure.
The Iranian defense minister also issued a dire warning about the looming humanitarian disaster in the besieged Gaza.
Israel has cut food, water, medicine, and fuel to Gaza. The United Nations has warned about the spread of disease in the enclave.
Iran’s defense chief also denounced Israel’s attacks on Syria’s airports in Aleppo and Damascus, indicating the regime is making fruitless attempts to project its ability to respond decisively on all fronts.
However, the Iranian defense minister stated that the Tel Aviv regime is more flimsy than the people can imagine.
