Modern art collection on show at Artibition

TEHRAN-A group exhibition entitled “Modern Art Collector” opened at Artibition Gallery in Tehran on Friday, showcasing works of renowned Iranian artists in various art mediums.

Artworks of 21 renowned figures went on display at the new site of the gallery that was officially inaugurated at the weekend, Mehr reported.

Among the artists whose works are showcased at the exhibit, there are painters Manoucher Yektai, Nasser Ovissi, Reza Derakshani, Jazeh Tabatabai, Sadegh Tabrizi, Iran Darroudi, Hossein Mahjoubi, Manouchehr Niazi, and Jalal Shabahangi.

The collection shows the modern art in Iran. The modern art movement in Iran had its genesis in the late 1940s and early 1950s. This was the period after the death of famous Persian painter, Kamal-ol-molk (1852–1940) and thus symbolically the end of a rigid adherence to academic painting.

Artibition is an art gallery for portraying the Iranian visual artworks aiming to familiarize the world with Iranian art style. It has succeeded in gaining worldwide fame and trust through providing easy access to the artworks, international presence and attending social networks.

Established in 2014, it seeks to connect talented artists, art collectors and galleries to the art lovers and buyers all cross the world who value Iranian arts and artworks.

The works will remain on display at Artibition Gallery is located at No. 2798, Valiasr Street, after Parkvay, next to Bank of Industry and Mine.
