Recent economic developments discussed at ICCIMA board meeting
TEHRAN - The board of representatives of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) held their fourth meeting in the new tenure on Sunday, the ICCIMA portal reported.
As reported by the ICCIMA portal, in the meeting, which was hosted by the Mashad Chamber of Commerce in Khorasan Razavi Province, ICCIMA board members including Head of the Mashhad Chamber of Commerce Mohammadreza Tavakolizadeh discussed the country’s latest economic developments.
Speaking at the gathering, Tavakolizadeh pointed to the decrease in the role of the private sector in the economy’s added value creation, saying: “The share of the private sector in creating the country's added value has decreased from 47.3 percent in [the Iranian calendar year] 1397 (ended in late March 2019) to 15-20 percent in the current year.”
“We must plan to increase the role of the private sector in the economy; Because the only way to improve the country's economy is to increase the role of the private sector,” he stressed.
