Iran’s table tennis doubles claim bronze at Hangzhou

TEHRAN – Nima and Noshad Alamiyan claimed a bronze medal on Sunday in the men's doubles table tennis in the 2022 Asian Games.

The Iranian pair was defeated against Fan Zhendong and Wang Chuqin of China 4-0 (11-4, 11-3, 11-3, 11-6) in the semifinals.

South Korea also defeated Chinese Taipei in other semifinals.

The Iranian brothers have previously made history in the Games, winning a bronze medal in the men’s table tennis team after 65 years.

With more than 12,000 competitors from 45 nations and territories, the Asian Games has more participants than the Olympics.

Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
