TEHRAN – Iran’s men's table tennis doubles of Noshad and Nima Alamian defeated the Japanese pair Taisei Matsushita and Mizuki Oikawa 3-0 (11-6,11-8, 11-5) in the 2022 Asian Games quarterfinals on Saturday.

The Iranian pair will meet China’s Zhendong Fan and Chuqin Wang in the semifinals on Sunday.

With more than 12,000 competitors from 45 nations and territories, the 2022 Asian Games has more participants than the Olympics.

Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
