TEHRAN – Iran has decided to exempt Kazakh nationals from needing an entry visa for a stay of up to two weeks in response to the same decision Kazakh made last year.

Following the decision of Astana government to introduce a [unilateral] visa-free regime for up to 14 days for Iranian citizens, Tehran provided such a possibility for Kazakh citizens to visit the Islamic Republic, ISNA quoted Astana’s ambassador to Tehran as saying on Saturday.

Askhat Orazbay added that Iran and Kazakhstan are trying to expand direct flights between the two countries to facilitate trader, business and tourism.

On July 8, 2022, Kazakhstan implemented the visa-free regime for citizens from India and China as well.

The Islamic Republic expects to reap a bonanza from its numerous tourist spots such as bazaars, museums, mosques, bridges, bathhouses, madrasas, mausoleums, churches, towers, and mansions, of which 26 are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
