TEHRAN - Iran’s men’s team defeated Belgium in the FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup South Africa 2023 quarterfinals on Friday.

The match ended 5-5 in regular time but Iran won the match 6-5 on penalties.

Team Melli, who claimed bronze in 2018, will play the winner of Austria and Argentina in the competition’s semifinals on Saturday.  

The competition is being held in Pretoria, South Africa from Feb. 5 to 11.
