We will do our best at 2023 IHF World Championship: Veselin Vujovic
TEHRAN – Iran handball team coach Veselin Vujovic says that they know how difficult is 2023 IHF Men’s World Championship but will do their best in the competition.
The Championship will be held in Poland and Sweden from Jan. 11 to 29.
Team Melli have been drawn along with Chile, Spain and Montenegro in Group A.
The Persians will meet Chile on Jan. 12 in their opener.
“We need several warm-ups ahead of the competition. Our first match against Chile is not very tough on paper but we will have a tough task ahead of Spain,” the Serbian coach said.
“Most of Iranian players have never experienced a great tournament and anything can happen. But we will do our best to get the best possible results,” Vujovic added.
“I cannot promise medal about the competition but I can assure you we will play our heart out to get the best possible results,” he added.
Iran will be without their line player Alireza Mousavi in the World Championship, after the player suffered a knee injury.
“Alireza will be absent in the competition and Shahoo Nosrati and Pouya Norouzinejhad will join us in the preparation camp,” Vujovic concluded.
