Steel products export stands at over 1.4m tons in 7 months
TEHRAN- Iran exported 1.423 million tons of steel products in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-October 22), the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) announced.
According to the ISPA’s released data, the country’s seven-month steel products export has fallen four percent from the amount of export in the same time span of the previous year which was 1.855 million tons.
As announced by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), the country exported 3.406 million tons of steel products in the past Iranian calendar year 1400 (ended on March 20).
The IMIDRO’s data put the country’s annual steel products export at 2.832 million tons in year 1399.
Also as announced by the Iranian Steel Producers Association, the production of steel products in Iran has risen 15 percent in the first seven months of the current year, as compared to the same period of time in the past year.
According to the ISPA’s released data, Iran has produced 12.67 million tons of steel products in the seven-month period of this year.
The Iranian Steel industry has been constantly developing over the past years against all the pressures and obstacles created by outside forces like the U.S. sanctions and the coronavirus outbreak that has severely affected the performance of the world’s top producers.
According to the latest report released by the World Steel Association (WSA), the production of crude steel in Iran rose nine percent in the first 10 months of 2022, as compared to the same period of time in the past year.
The WSA data put the country’s 10-month crude steel production at 25.1 million tons.
The report shows that Iran’s crude steel output has also increased by 3.5 percent in October compared to the same month in 2021, reaching 2.9 million tons.
Iran has maintained its place as the world’s 10th biggest steel producer during the mentioned 10 months, according to the WSA data.
The country is expected to climb to seventh place among the world’s top steel producers by the Iranian calendar year 1404 (March 2025).
