From the age of 15 to 23, author Ahmad Dehghan fought in the war. His first book was called "Travel Towards 270 Degrees," and he has since written and published a ton of other outstanding books.

* Would you please describe your career path briefly to start? What changes have you noticed in yourself since then?

To be completely honest, whenever I reflect on the past, I feel as though my pen—along with myself—has matured significantly. I think that as I learned to deal with life, life also learned to proceed with me. I had to learn, and the only way to do that was to read and write. Of course, this process involved some trial and error.

* Why don't we have a strong position in short stories, particularly those about war?

Every year, many short story competitions are held, but it is impossible to find a compelling short story. The issue is that many people believe short stories are only appropriate for the fundamentals, and every author begins their career with a short story before moving on to a lengthy novel. The fact is that short story writing is harder and more specialized than novel writing.

* Why does an author choose to write a short story?

Short story and novel are both alike and different! On this faraway planet, they both talk about life and try to comfort us. However, each one does this while narrating a different world in their own language. The purpose of the novel is to show us a new life in our dreams. However, the short story only provides us with a snapshot of that life. But the key is that a strong short story engages the reader after it has been read.

* Mr. Dehghan, will you continue to write about war?

I only have one non-war topic that I'd like to write about in the future. The rest are all connected to the war, and I'll never run out of topics to write about it.
