TEHRAN - Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the Foreign Minister of Iran, has declared that some adversaries have attempted in recent weeks to take advantage of developments in Iran to foment disturbance and insecurity in the country.

In a phone call with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu on Monday afternoon, Amir Abdollahian said that the adversaries made an attempt to set the stage for the Daesh terrorist act.

Amir Abdollahian also offered compassion to the people and government of Turkiye over a recent mine blast which resulted in the deaths of several citizens and the wounding of others.

Additionally, the Iranian foreign minister wished Turkiye a happy Republic Day on October 29.

For his part, the Turkish foreign minister stated that his nation has supported Iran in its battle against terrorism and would continue to do so.

He said this after denouncing the terrorist attack on a sacred site on October 26 in Shiraz, a city in southcentral Iran, which left 13 pilgrims dead and about 30 others injured.

According to Cavusoglu, Ankara and Tehran are two kin nations that have stood by one another during good and difficult times.
