TEHRAN — Spokesperson for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) says there would soon be great news regarding radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear reactors.

Behrouz Kamalvandi made the remarks on Tuesday night.

“Claims by the foe claims that their sanctions have nothing to do with food and medicine is a lie.”  Kamalvandi also said in terms of vulnerability in the nuclear field, the country has become almost invincible due to various reasons.

“By using different methods, the security has increased, and for our enemies, whose main goal is to attack Iran's nuclear industry and scientists, there is no other option other than diplomacy.”

He added that in addition to the provisions of radiopharmaceuticals inside the country, despite all the sanctions, an estimate of 400,000 to 500,000 people are using radiopharmaceuticals abroad.
“This is while we are under heavy sanctions pressure. The fact that the foe’s claims that their sanctions have nothing to do with food and medicine is a lie. This issue has been dealt with at the level of the Human Rights Organization, but it is necessary to do something at the international level so that the world knows about the cruel sanctions that include radiopharmaceuticals for the ill,” he added.

For example, Kamalvandi said, an Iranian radiopharmaceutical company has been sanctioned though it provides medicine for patients.

The company had been asked to correspond with the U.S. Treasury to urge them to reverse their decision but the call fell on deaf ears, he lamented. “Several letters were written for this purpose, but nothing happened and they refused to remove this company from their sanctions list.”

He concluded his remarks by saying, “We will have good news in the field of (nuclear) reactors and radiopharmaceuticals.”
