‘Tehran determined to strengthen cooperation with Baku’
TEHRAN- Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber said that there are vast capacities for the development of cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan in the transportation sector, and Tehran is determined to strengthen its cooperation with Baku.
The official made the remarks in a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov on the sidelines of the Second Caspian Economic Forum in Moscow on Thursday.
He mentioned preferential trade development to increase the volume of trade exchanges as one of the strategies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and said: “Currently, the level of trade between Iran and Azerbaijan is not commensurate with the existing capacities of the two countries.”
Asadov, for his part, appreciated Iran's support for the transfer of gas from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan through Iran and emphasized the need for a more serious follow-up of the cooperation process between the two countries by the two sides' joint economic committee.
