Germany's Imports From Iran Register a Sharp Rise

BONN Germany's imports from Iran rose sharply this may from the figures from April, German Statistics Office spokesman told IRNA here Tuesday.
German imports from Iran rose to 141 million marks in May from 61 million marks in April, said the official.
According to the spokesman, the value of Germany's exports to Iran reached 208 million marks in May, 72 million marks more than the figure for April.
German Statistics Office reported that crude oil, textiles and agricultural products constituted major portion of imports from Iran in May.
Germany imported 82.2 million marks worth crude oil and natural gas, 26.3 million marks worth textiles and 15.6 million marks worth agricultural products from Iran in May.
Machinery, iron and steel products and chemical products were the major export items from Germany in May.
According to the report, Germany exported various machinery, worth 66.2 million marks, iron and steel products, worth 39.3 million, and chemical products, worth 25.3 million marks, to Iran in May.
The value of Germany's imports from and exports to Iran stood at more than 481 million marks and more than 946 million marks respectively during the January-May period.
