Progresses that followed the 1979 revolution in Iran

After the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran emerged from a country dependent on the West, mainly the United States, to an independent democratic state which also prospered considerably in terms of science, military, and economy. All these things happened despite unprecedented economic sanctions and pressures.
