TEHRAN – IRGC Quds Force Commander Major General Qassem Soleimani has received Iran’s highest Medal of Honor, the Order of Zolfaqar, from Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, making him the first Iranian commander to receive the medal after the Islamic Revolution of 1979.

Leader’s representative in the IRGC Quds Force Hojatoleslam Ali Shirazi announced the news and congratulated General Soleimani, the Iranian nation and the personnel of the IRGC Quds Force for the achievement, Mehr reported on Monday.

The top general is widely known as one of the most influential military commanders in the world.
