Iranian diplomat in Moscow to discuss Venezuela

TEHRAN – Director of the Foreign Ministry Department for the Americas was expected to depart Tehran for Moscow on Monday night to exchange views about Venezuela with the Russian side.

According to the YJC, Mohsen Baharvand’s visit is intended to create coordination between Iran and Russia on international affairs, especially the political situation in Venezuela.

Since the beginning of the political crisis in Venezuela, the Islamic Republic has voiced objection to any form of interference in the internal affairs of the country, especially by the United States.

Iran has also voiced its support for the Venezuelan government’s proposal for dialogue with the opposition.
