Ancient teenage girl’s skeleton discovered in northern Iran

TEHRAN – The skeleton of a teenage girl, dating back to 3000-5000 years ago, has been unearthed by an Iranian archaeological team in Bozrudpey, Babol county, northern province of Mazandaran, CHTN reported on Saturday.

“The skeleton belongs to a girl of 13 to 14 years old. A stitching awl was found on her side while a necklace made of oysters, stones, and bitumen was around her neck,” archaeologist Mohammad Afzali, who leads the team, said.

The exact era of the skeleton will be determined after in-depth studies are completed, he added.
