Jordan to host Yemeni peace talks

 Jordan said on Tuesday that it agreed to host a meeting between the Yemeni government and the Houthis to discuss an agreement to exchange prisoners and detainees.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Sufian Qudah said in a statement that the ministry approved a request by the UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths to host a meeting in the capital Amman between the Yemeni government and the Houthis.

Jordan supports all efforts in the regard and will place all its capabilities to help end the Yemeni crisis and reach a political solution, he added.

A delegation from the Houthis has arrived in Amman for the meeting expected to be held on Wednesday, according to a well-informed source who preferred to remain anonymous.
