Turkey’s Erdogan officially welcomes Iran’s Rouhani
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has officially welcomed his Iranian counterpart, Hassan Rouhani, who is in Ankara for two days of high-level talks on a wide range of issues, particularly bilateral economic ties.
Heading a high-ranking delegation, the Iranian chief executive arrived in the Turkish capital, where he is slated to sit down for talks with the country’s senior officials and attend the 5th Meeting of High Council for Iran-Turkey Strategic Cooperation.
Following the welcoming ceremony, Rouhani sat down for talks with Erdogan. The two presidents are currently attending a joint presser.
Rouhani is accompanied by a number of Iranian ministers and other senior officials, including Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh and Economy Minister Farhad Dejpasand.
During the visit, Tehran and Ankara are scheduled to sign a number of agreements in different fields, including economy, politics and culture.
