Putin reiterates support for Iran deal

TEHRAN – Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed support for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) during the G20 Summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Friday.
Preserving the JCPOA will help prevent new wave of tensions surrounding Iran’s nuclear program, therefore, all necessary measures should be taken to maintain the JCPOA, Putin said, IRNA reported.
Despite warnings by the international community, U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran on May 8. He imposed two rounds of sanctions on Iran, the second of which came into force earlier in November.
