Tehran, Moscow discuss expansion of transport ties

TEHRAN – Iranian Transport Minister Mohammad Eslami met with his Russian counterpart Yevgeny Dietrich on Tuesday to discuss expansion of ties, the Iranian Transport Ministry’s portal reported.

The officials met on the sidelines of the Transport Week Russia 2018 which is being held during November 20–22 at the Gostiny Dvor Art Gallery in Moscow.

In the meeting, the two sides emphasized the need for development of rail cooperation, accelerating joint projects and the need for cooperation on the completion of the international North–South transport corridor.

The international North–South transport corridor starts from Helsinki in Finland, and passing through Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran ends in Mumbai, India.
