TEHRAN – Majid Majidi, director of acclaimed movies such as “Muhammad (S), the Messenger of God” and “Children of Heaven”, has received the honorary professor title from the Beijing Film Academy (BFA).

Majidi received the title from BFA Council deputy director Zhang Jian on Tuesday, the Persian service f IRNA reported on Wednesday.

His Oscar-nominated “Children of Heaven” and “The Song of Sparrows” were also screened for a large number of Chinese filmmakers and film students at the academy.

Majidi also delivered a speech on Wednesday during a meeting with a group of young Chinese filmmakers.
