Iran’s Sohrab Moradi wins gold at World Weightlifting Championships

TEHRAN – Sohrab Moradi of Iran claimed a gold medal at the 2018 IWF World Weightlifting Championships on Wednesday.
Moradi won a gold in the men’s 96kg in the competition underway in Ashgabat , Turkmenistan.
He lifted 186kg in snatch and 230kg in clean and jerk, winning the gold with a total of 416kg.
“I am very happy because of winning the gold medal because I was very exhausted after the 2018 Asian Games. I did my best for my nation and I will dedicate my gold medal to the Iranian people,” Moradi said.
Tao Tian from China snatched the silver medal with a total of 407kg and the bronze medal went to Romanian Nicolae Onica with 391kg.
The 2018 World Weightlifting Championships are being held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan from November 1 to 10.
