IAU plans to establish innovation centers nationwide

TEHRAN – The Islamic Azad University (IAU) plans to establish 40 innovation centers in different branches across the country until the end of the current Iranian calendar year 1397 (March 2019), IAU caretaker Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi said, ISNA reported.

As the major non-governmental private university system in Iran, IAU has 31 provincial university branches across Iran.

The IAU secretariat provides interdisciplinary studies in order to create synergy for solving challenges during coming school year beginning in October, he said.  

“For dealing with some national challenge like water shortage, we need to confront with it from different aspects of history, human science and sociology as well as engineering,” he explained.

The IAU plans to establish a fund to support knowledge-based ideas proposed by the students.

“The fund is established according to technology ecosystem to help knowledge-based activities,” he explained.
