Large drug cargos seized in southeast Iran

TEHRAN – Iranian security forces in two separate operations seized two big drug cargos in the southeastern and southern provinces, Intelligence Ministry said in a report released on Monday.
Following an undercover operation, the security forces confiscated one ton plus 660 kilograms of opium from a truck in the southern province of Hormuzgan, IRNA reported.
According to the report, the haul of drugs was disguised as a rice consignment in the truck, which was destined to central provinces.
In a separate operation in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan, more than two tons of opium were seized after two hours of lengthy clashes with the armed drug traffickers.
