“Flipping Filip” names best at Tehran Game Convention

TEHRAN – “Flipping Filip”, a 2D adventure game from Iranian studio Deedema, was picked as Best PC Game at the Tehran Game Convention (TGC) on Friday.
“Woodfarer” from the Cologne Game Lab in Germany won the award for the Most Innovative PC Game and “Flipping Filip” also received the award for best visual effects.
The winners received the Gamistan Award, which has been initiated in this edition of the TGC.
Gamistan is an imaginary region, composed of 33 Asian and African countries such as India, Turkey, Morocco and Egypt, which enjoy innovative teams of game developers that have expanded computer games. This region has a population of two billion, 40 percent of whom play computer games.
In the mobile game category, “Pa Pa Land: Head Escape” from Iranian studio Nova Develop won the Gamistan for Best Mobile Game.
OGame developed by Gameforge from Germany won the Gamistan for Most Innovative Mobile Game while “Pa Pa Land: Head Escape” won the Gamistan for best visual effects.
“Anahita” from French developer Clickteam won the people’s choice award.
Ninety mobile and PC games developed by companies from nine countries competed in the Tehran Games Convention, which was held on Thursday and Friday.
Representatives of over 1300 international game developers and distributors attended the event.
