TEHRAN – Syrian Higher Education Minister Atef Naddaf met on Tuesday with Ali Akbar Velayati, the head of Azad University's board of founders, during which the sides discussed regional developments and the fight against terrorism.

During the meeting, Velayati congratulated the Syrian government for its victories against the terrorists, saying such victories would soon drive the U.S. forces out of Eastern Euphrates.

Naddaf, for his part, thanked the Islamic Republic and Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for helping the Syrian government in the fight against terrorism.
