U.S. dream about Iran won’t be realized: Shamkhani
TEHRAN - Ali Shamkhani, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, assured on Tuesday that the U.S. dream to limit Iran’s nuclear activities through imposing sanctions will not be realized.
On May 8, President Donald Trump officially withdrew the U.S. from the UN-endorsed nuclear agreement and plans to reintroduce sanctions on Iran.
Iran has warned if its interests are not guaranteed under the nuclear agreement it would resume its nuclear activities with a greater speed.
During a meeting with national TV managers, Shamkhani said that the hegemonic system seeks to make Iran surrender to political and economic pressure through waging a “psychological warfare”.
The top security official added that the enemy is making efforts to exert economic pressure against the country in order to undermine stability.
To counter enemies and solve the people’s problems, the top security official suggested, it is necessary to use economic capacities and strengthen national unity.
Elsewhere, he said that foreign currency traders who have caused instability in the market will be stopped from gaining illegitimate benefits.
