Iranian universities to join academic network
TEHRAN – In the coming two weeks a number of 30 Iranian universities across the country will share their knowledge through joining an academic network, Mehr reported on Wednesday.
Through the network, the universities are able to share academic findings, Information Technology Organization of Iran (ITO) chief Rasoul Saraeian told the Mehr news agency.
“This is the first phase of this national project, which is supported by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology,” he explained.
The project was proposed by the Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology in 1994 under the title of “university network”, however it was not implemented.
In 2006, the project was again introduced under the title of “Academic Network”, but it was not implemented.
