TEHRAN By carrying out some 65 percent of drainage works at Shahid Kalantari Port, now oceangoing ships can anchor at Chabahar Port, Sistan and Baluchestan Province. Oceangoing ship "Iran Tabatabaie" with a 1000-container capacity was the first ship to anchor at Chabahar Port on Saturday and unload its huge consignment. Before carrying out drainage work in the port the oceangoing ships used to unload their consignment at Bandar Abbass for nearly four month of a year due to monsoon season.
Then the goods unloaded at Bandar Abbass were transported to Chabahar by truck. Once drainage works at the port are completed larger oceangoing ships can anchor at Chabahar Port.
