Fajr unveils lineup for 7th Hour

TEHRAN – Eleven movies from Iran and world cinema will be screened in the 7th Hour, a new section at the Fajr International Film Festival that intends to heighten schoolchildren’s social awareness, the organizers announced on Tuesday.
Among the movies are “El Clásico”, a 2015 Iraqi-Norwegian drama by Halkawt Mustafa, “The Little Prince”, a 2015 English-language French 3D animated fantasy adventure family drama by Mark Osborne, “Little Mountain Boy”, a Swiss powerful and moving film by Xavier Koller, “Lion”, a 2016 Australian biographical drama film by Garth Davis, and “150 Milligrams”, a 2016 French drama film directed by Emmanuelle Bercot.
“Hello” by Mohammadreza Haj-Gholami, “Alphabet” by Kianush Abedi, “Empty View” by Ali Zare Qanatnoei, and “The Elephant King” by Hadi Mohammadian, all from Iran, will also be screened in the category.
Several theaters in Tehran dedicated to the program will screen the movies from April 17 to 25 in collaboration with the Tehran Municipality and the Ministry of Education.
Experts will brief the students on the films before screening, and they will also receive basic criticism education that will provide them an opportunity to write reviews, the best of which will be awarded by the organizers.
The 36th edition of the Fajr International Film Festival will be held in Tehran from April 19 to 27.
