Sarmayeh Bank win Iranian Volleyball Super League

TEHRAN - For the third year in a row, Sarmayeh Bank Tehran claimed the title of the Iranian Volleyball Super League on Wednesday.

Sarmayeh Bank defeated Khatam Ardakan 3-1 (25-21, 25-13, 22-25, 25-20) in the final match and lifted the trophy.

The Iranian Super League (ISL) is a professional volleyball league in Iran at the top of the Iranian volleyball league system.

It was founded in 1975 as the Pasargard Cup, but after the Iranian Revolution it was renamed to the first Division. In 1997 the league system was revamped and the Iranian Super League was established. Paykan Tehran have won the most titles in the new Super League with 12 titles.

Sarmayeh Bank will represent Iran in the 2018 AVC Club Volleyball Championship in Myanmar.

The Iranian men’s volleyball club has been drawn in Pool A along with Japan and Qatar.

Pool B consists of Kazakhstan, Iraq and China while Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, Myanmar and Thailand are in Pool C.
