TEHRAN – The Majlis Education and Research Committee will follow up on the Islamic Azad University (IAU) for dismissal of some professors as well as other issues, a committee member said on Saturday.

MP Fatemeh Saeidi said IAU chancellor Farhad Rahbar will be invited to the parliamentary committee to respond to questions regarding the recent controversies surrounding the university, ISNA reported.

On Rahbar’s possible resignation, Saeidi said as long as he is the president of the IAU, he will be held accountable.
