Iran plans to join Europe’s electricity network through neighbors

TEHRAN – Iran’s Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said Iran is planning to access Europe’s power network through adjacent neighbors’ electricity networks.

According to IRNA, the official noted that Iran is currently exchanging electricity with almost all of its neighboring countries including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Iraq for some of which like Iraq and Afghanistan Iran is the sole exporter of electricity.
