TEHRAN – Bodies of 28 Iranian martyrs that were recently found will be brought into the country on Thursday via the Shalamcheh border point, Tasnim reported.
The remains of the soldiers, who were martyred during the Holy Defense (Iraq’s war against Iran in the 1980s), had been unearthed in Iraq some 30 years after the end of the war.
The soldiers were killed during Moharram, Ramadan, Karbala 4 and One Enemy operations in the calendar year 1367 (1988-89).
People as well as officials and military commanders will attend a ceremony to welcome the martyrs’ arrival.
