Indonesian journalists get inside look at Iranian media
A group of Indonesian journalists who arrived in Tehran on January 19 visited the offices of the Mehr news agency and the Tehran Times on January 20.
The press visit, organized by the Islamic Cultural Relations Organization (ICRO), provides an opportunity for correspondents from Indonesia to explore avenues for cooperation with Iranian media outlets.
The Tehran Times editor-in-chief Mohammad Ghaderi, who is also the head of international desk at the Mehr news agency, elaborated on the activities of the both news media outlets in talks with Indonesian journalists.
Aside from a desire to achieve more understanding between journalists of the two countries, another aim of such contacts is to boost tourism between Iran and Indonesia. Both countries are predominantly Muslim, and Indonesia happens to have the largest Muslim population of any country.
