Fajr Film Festival to honor dubber Manuchehr Esmaeili

TEHRAN – Veteran Iranian film dubber Manuchehr Esmaeili will be honored with a lifetime achievement award at the 36th Fajr Film Festival, the organizers announced on Friday.

Esmaeili, 78, has lent his voice to many leading characters played by Gregory Peck, Charlton Heston, Laurence Olivier, James Cagney, Marcello Mastroianni and many other film stars of world cinema.

He also lent his voice to many Iranian films produced during the 80s and 90s.

Earlier last week, the Fajr Film Festival announced that filmmaker Mohammad Ali Najafi would also receive a lifetime achievement award.

The 36th Fajr Film Festival will be held in Tehran from February 1 to 11, 2018.
