TEHRAN – Mahmoud Vaezi, the presidential chief of staff, said on Monday that Iran must be able to reap the benefits of the nuclear deal in order to boost its economy and enjoy open global markets.
Vazei criticized U.S. President Donald Trump for threatening to rip up the deal, saying Iran will take necessary actions in the event that the nuclear pact is abandoned by the other side, Fars reported.
Iran, the European Union and six world powers including the U.S., UK, Russia, France, China, and Germany signed the nuclear deal, officially called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2015. It went into effect in January 2016.
